Overview

The PowerTechware™ AS120 is an access platform that connects end users using standard Ethernet to their service providers. PowerNet combines the standard and low-cost Ethernet technology with the reliable SONET/SDH ring technology to design this PowerTechware™ AS120 access platform to enable carriers to provide reliable Ethernet service to end users at a very low cost. The PowerTechware™ AS120 access platform consists of three different models: AS120A, AS120B, and AS120R.

Main Features

  • Low latency wire speed user traffic forwarding
  • Per subscriber port user traffic policing from 128kbps to wire speed at 128kbps increment
  • User traffics separated by VLAN for security
  • Network management/equipment management made easy with the abilities to do remote configuration, remote alarm reporting, remote diagnostics, and remote upgrades (CS600 acts as the central point for network management access.)
  • Per port user traffic enable and disable for ease of subscriber control
  • Support both point-to-point topology and ring topology
  • Maximum 256 nodes per ring
  • Maximum 2000 subscribers per ring

Network Management

All the management interfaces are provided with the CS600 in the central office. The operators can access to each AS120A in the central office via one or all of the following methods.

  • CLI
  • SNMP
  • HTTP

Remote Diagnostics - All diagnostic functions can be initiated in the central office.

  • Subscriber cable length (accurate to 10m)
  • Subscriber cable-cut
  • Heart-beat of AS120
  • Connectivity of Gigabit interfaces
  • Connectivity of user Ethernet interfaces

Remote Alarms - All alarms are reported to the central office.

  • Connectivity loss at the two Gigabit interfaces
  • Connectivity loss at each subscriber port
  • Ring configuration changes

Visual Indicators

  • Green Power LED to indicate the system is power-on
  • Green System LED to indicate the system is ready to carry user traffic
  • Yellow Diagnostic LED to indicate the system is performing diagnostic functions
  • A plug for an external 3 7-segment LED display (provided by Allnet) to indicate system ID
